SB 6835 – State Labor Relations Act

SB 6835 would have established a State Labor Relations Act for Washington State.  Currently, small businesses are governed by the National Labor Relations Act.  Most small firms are effectively exempt from the National Labor Relations Act.  IBA was a leader in opposing SB 6835.

SB 6835 would have established a State Labor Relations Act to apply to all firms not covered by the National Labor Relations Act—meaning small businesses.

Once a labor union starts to try to unionize your small business, IBA estimates (on the low side) that it would cost you $25,000 in legal costs simply to try to defend yourself.
